Acute care after rape
If you have experienced rape, you should seek medical treatment immediately. You can also have a confidential forensic examination carried out and we will call you for counseling if you wish. All of this happens without a police report.
I have been raped. What should I do?
If you have been raped no more than three days (72 hours) ago, get medical treatment as soon as possible. Even if injuries are often not visible on the outside, rape is a medical emergency. Medical confidentiality applies to doctors and hospital staff. This means that the doctors on site are not allowed to call the police without your consent. It is important to know that a report to the police about rape automatically triggers the filing of charges. However, only you can and should decide this. Your health insurance company will not receive any information about the rape either. The examination and medical treatment are free of charge for you. You can find a description of what the local care will look like below.
Boys and men are also raped - the services described here naturally also apply to them. Confidential evidence collection and storage for one year also applies.
Where do I need to go?
Contact the Women's Clinic at the University Hospital UKGM on the Lahnberge in Marburg. You are welcome to take a trusted person with you for support. If you do not understand German or are dependent on assistance, please bring appropriate support with you. If this is not possible, please contact the Frauennotruf Marburg before your visit to the hospital. To avoid long waiting times at the hospital, call in advance if possible and inform them that you are seeking care after rape. However, it is also possible to come without an appointment. If possible, please bring your vaccination record with you.

How do I get to the hospital?
By public transportation:
From the main train station, take bus line 2 in the direction of Marburg Eisenacher Weg or Marburg Sonnenblick to the Universitätsklinikum Marburg stop
or
From the main train station, bus line 75 in the direction of Kirchhain Bahnhof to the Universitätsklinikum Marburg stop
By car:
Coming from Frankfurt/Gießen:
Exit Marburg Süd, follow the signs to "Klinikum Lahnberge".
Then follow the signs to the main entrance (not ZNA and not the delivery room).
Coming from Kassel:
Exit Wehrda/Cölbe, follow the signs to "Klinikum Lahnberge".
Then follow the signs to the main entrance (not the ZNA and not the delivery room).
When I'm at the hospital, where do I have to go?
Once you have arrived at the hospital, you can enter the women's clinic directly via the west entrance. You do not have to go through the central emergency room as usual.

The gynecological outpatient clinic is located in the west wing of the University Hospital. The following directions may help you to get there.
When you get off the bus at the bus stop Universitätsklinikum Marburg, walk straight ahead towards the main entrance. The guidelines for the blind begin 30 steps after the bus stop. After another 130 steps, cross a road and walk straight ahead for another 40 steps.
Do not enter via the main entrance, but turn right before the signpost towards the west entrance.
Follow the path. After 125 steps you will come across square bollards.
Here you will see a signpost.Turn left and walk directly towards the west entrance.
After 80 steps you will come to another bollard.
It is now only a few meters to the entrance.
After 40 steps you enter the clinic through a sliding door.
In the entrance area, take 20 steps diagonally to the right towards a staircase to the basement.
Follow the stairs down. That's 16 and another 16 steps.
At the foot of the stairs, take a sharp left. After 30 steps you will reach a waiting area with a seating area.
Walk straight ahead for 10 steps until you reach the window front and then turn left. After 17 more steps, turn right. After 10 steps you will come to the registration desk of the gynecological outpatient clinic (german: Gynäkologische Ambulanz/Poliklinik).
